Case study

A real PÅNY project — documented from concept to completion. Every Journey entry records the property, the brief, the materials and the realised result.

Project goal

Before PÅNY became a collection of architectural products, it was a series of real projects, real clients and real construction sites. This project in Slagelse became an important milestone on that journey. The brief was simple: create a compact 4×4 metre garden building combined with a covered outdoor terrace that could serve both practical and recreational purposes. The solution combined a functional garden building with a sheltered 2×4 metre terrace protected by a timber privacy screen. Natural timber cladding, carefully balanced proportions and a protected outdoor space transformed a simple structure into something much more valuable than traditional storage. This project marked an important shift in thinking. The goal was no longer simply to create additional square metres. The goal became creating spaces where people enjoy spending time. Many of the principles that later became part of the PÅNY philosophy can already be seen here: natural materials, Scandinavian simplicity, functional outdoor living, timeless proportions, and architecture that improves everyday life. Lesson learned: good architecture is not about creating bigger buildings. It is about creating better places to spend time.
